MISI MARVELS:

Its time for another Misi Marvels entry, featuring some of the amazing talent from our lovely misi sellers. This weeks theme is "corsages/brooches". I have started using up all the leftover ribbons from my scarves, and turning them into cute little corsages (which really is a good thing to do as it means they hardly cost anything at all to make. Im thinking of taking them to my next craft fair and after that i might put them up for sale on misi). I love corsages, they seem to be everywhere at the moment - great for wearing over a shawl or jumper to look really eyecatching, or even using them as a bag decoration! They make lovely gifts aswell. So I have browsed the Misi shops and picked out a selection of corsages/brooches that caught my eye, here they are below with links to the shops:

Well although all the snow had gone from round my area its just started again now! We drove north to the Lake District yesterday and the snow had most definitely not gone from there, it was actually beautiful and only just settled; a great walk with lots of sunshine and not too cold either. There were some fantastic views with all the snow in the valleys and ice on all the lakes:

Its always good to get out and make the most of the sunshine while it lasts. The landscape is so pretty round there!

Halfway up the gulley. A lot of the snow had been there since december and just never shifted. Quite a steep climb up by the wall but worth it once the view was visible to the surrounding mountains and forests below.

Some beautiful scenes from up near the top. It looks very cold but after all the climbing you tend to be down to a tshirt by then.

  

Phew! Nearly there!

Well, i had a bit of an exhausting day yesterday - took my driving test (managed to fail on my left reverse turn, and knock over a neighbours plant pot!) Its funny how nerves can be so draining. Ive now got to re-book and take it again (though im leaving it for a few days cus right now i dont even want to think about cars for a while!), but anyway, I just cannot believe how the year is zooming by - its nearly March everyone!! And as the next event on the calendar is Mother's Day, heres two of my latest scarves that could make lovely gifts. The first one I decided to call "Dusk" because of the beautiful soft greys and pinks with the sparkle. The second one is called "Ocean Sparkle" - in cool ocean colours of turquoise, greens and browns.

MISI MARVELS: My New Misi Sellers Showcase:

I thought it might be a nice idea to have a regular "themed" blog entry devoted to the wonderful and varied talents found on Misi, an ever growing community of crafters devoted to their creativity! Each week I will pick a random theme (and I mean it will be random!) and feature products related to that theme that I find on my travels of the Misi stores! Hopefully this way I can feature as wide a range as possible of the many different talents on the site and help everyone get more views of their work!

I thought my first theme would be.....(drum roll)........CAKES!! (Yes I know, how predictable of me!) I was in Manchester the other day and couldnt resist buying a cupcake for myself from Greggs, one with pink icing and sweeties on top - they really take me back to when I was little; I dont think I will ever tire of cake!! Theres nothing like sitting down in a cafe in the afternoon with a slice of victoria sponge and a capuccino! So, putting my love of cakes to one side (especially with Lent fast approaching) lets kick off with a selection of "cake" themed makes:

I have just recieved one of these scrumptious felt cupcake pincushions from Mitbits. They come in several different flavours and a box with matching coloured ribbon.

This gorgeous little hand knitted cupcake with a cherry on top has been made by plump-puddings and comes in its own case. It is also available in a mixture of flavours.

This is a beautifully detailed black ink pen drawing of a cupcake on off-white handmade paper by bhamilton. Ready to frame.

Rainbows galore:
Feels ages since I last blogged, ive just been soo busy! Its incredible how time flies. Anyway, I have just relisted this spectacular explosion of colour to my misi collection of loopy scarves "Rainbow Fizz"- the name really speaks for itself!

Spring shades...
Ive just photographed two more of my special scarves, in new 'spring' colours, beautiful soft green and baby pink. They are sooooo soft and made with a combination of fluffy, downey knitting wool and sparkly thread, mixed with glitter ribbon in variagated colours. They would make lovely birthday gifts and are great for glamming up an outfit, the subtle glitter and sparkle makes them ideal for wearing when out somewhere special. They will be available to buy from my MISI shop tomorrow when I have taken some more photographs for the listings. (Lets hope there will be some good lighting!) Also need to get thinking on some names for them both!

Magical forces at work...
Ok you know when things suddenly vanish into thin air? Well thats happened to me today. I was going through a bag I have full of balls of wool and ribbons, and I found this gorgeous bright blue yarn with velvety tufts in. Now, when i bought this I bought another at the same time, so I had two. (aren't i good at maths!). But when i was rummaging through this bag today, one was not there. I took everything out and even checked the bottom of the bag (for some reason i considered that it could be stuck to the bottom), but nope. It has not returned. Its literally nowhere. So Im going to have to make half a scarf until it returns. It ends up feeling rather sinister when you lose something and think "how can this happen", noone else has seen it, you start to think you must be going mad, that youve been imagining the lost thing all along, or that somehow it has disintegrated into air molecules.  i'll probably find it somewhere right under my nose, and ive been staring at it all along tutting and cursing its absence...

Here are the latest products to my misi shop: a crocheted loop scarf made using gorgeous fluffy yarn with sparkly metallic strands and glitter ribbon, and a knitted spring/summer scarf in delicate ladder yarn. Ive managed to get hold of some more ladder yarn in rainbow colours so looking forward to making one similar to the red below shortly.

Just been having immense fun setting up my blog and choosing a nice background, though sadly couldnt find any with rainbows on. well, except for rainbow cars, but somehow that didnt really seem appropriate! I'll be adding some pictures of my latest products soon, though im beginning to get rectangle eyes from staring at my laptop screen too long...this sort of thing does get very addictive.
